Amazon Takes Its Android Appstore Global, Adding 200 More Countries
TechCrunch
Amazon, as we have all come to expect by now, doesn't give out specific numbers on how well apps (or its devices) are selling.
Véronique LIORET's curator insight, May 4, 6:13 PM

Amazon started as an online bookseller but has since expanded into electronics, home goods, fashion, digital content and much more. With that, it has built a business model around being aggressive on prices for consumers, making up for it with economies of scale. In that sense, taking its Appstore (and probably its hardware) to as wide an audience as possible is an essential move for the company.

Samsung and Android: A slow breakup on the horizon

Samsung and Android: A slow breakup on the horizon | App Development | Scoop.it
Samsung is the world's most successful manufacturer of Android devices, but the company also is working on its own mobile OS in collaboration with Intel. How long before the South Korean manufacturer has to choose between the two?
colomban scully's comment, April 15, 4:01 AM
it would certainly be good for samsung to have there own operating system and not depend on android , however , it is most likely that it would take time for customers to get used to the new operating system on samsung , and it wouold need to have acsess to all the apps available on android devices.
Lena Ivkina's comment, April 15, 4:06 AM
I think us sung will be fine as long as they can develop an operating system which will be easy to adapt to for their users which probably means that it will have to be pretty similar to android
